Walk Of Life – Day 8, June 2022 – Thoughts For The Book Of Proverbs
For wisdom is better than rubies, And all the things one may desire cannot be compared with her.- Proverbs 8:11
As a continuation of what we meditated yesterday regarding Wisdom in chapter 8 it is said that there is nothing that can be desired more than that and this is truth has been revealed to King Solomon and that’s why he asks the Lord to bless him with wisdom apart from everything else. Yes riches and power are important but the most important is wisdom, as with wisdom we can gain everything else.
Students it is so important that you need to desire for it. Have a longing to be filled with the wisdom of god as it is going to take you to higher level. It is quite interesting to read about King Solomon that his understanding and knowledge reached and extended to various genres. His fame had spread far and wide that the queen of Sheba had visited him to know about him.
The knowledge of the Lord brings wisdom. Reading the Word brings the knowledge of God, and meditating upon that knowledge brings wisdom as we allow the Holy Spirit to bring revelation and show us how to apply it in our lives. Wisdom is knowledge applied. Reading and meditating on the Word renews our mind (Romans 12:2; 2 Timothy 2:15), reveals truth (John 8:32), and allows us to tap into the wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 2:6-10).
Those who desire God’s truth and wisdom can have it (Proverbs 1:22 – 23; 1:7). When our thoughts align with God’s thoughts, our minds will be renewed. All the promises and blessings of God will be unlocked and manifest in our lives when our mind is renewed. The fastest way to renew our minds is to agree with what God says in His Word. That is humility.
Are you reaping the benefits of Godly wisdom? You will, if you meditate on God’s Word, ask the Lord for wisdom (James 1:5), and walk in the Spirit following the Holy Spirit’s guidance and instruction. Walking in wisdom helps us to make the right choices for our lives and protects us (Proverbs 2:11-16; 29:8). It equips us to handle difficult situations and relationships. Wisdom helps you work smarter, not harder (Ecclesiastes 10:10). Those who have God’s wisdom will show it in the way that they live. A wise person walks in righteousness (See Proverbs 10), not just what you do but who you are in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21). A truly wise person does what God’s Word says. Don’t be a fool!
He who trusts in his own heart is a fool, but whoever walks wisely will be delivered. Proverbs 28:26. We need God’s wisdom to navigate the days in which we live, i.e., complicated relationships, how to handle our money, how to face adversity with faith, where to go and what to do, etc. You won’t regret walking in Godly wisdom (Isaiah 28:29)!
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Ephesians 5:15 – 17
