Walk Of Life – Day 7 , October 2020 – Thoughts From The Book Of Proverbs
I came out to meet you, Diligently to seek your face, And I have found you. – Proverbs 7 : 15
On a very late night, as I was staring outside, a young girl was sitting outside in a dark place using her mobile. In a short while a young man in his factory’s uniform crossed her house in his cycle and this girl walked few steps ahead to meet him. They both must be equally tired after working for the whole day and especially during these days after the complete lockdown people who do blue collar jobs is very stressful. Still they took risks to talk and to see one another. The next day morning close to the dawn, after my quiet time I opened the same window and as I started admiring the magnificence of God’s creation, I was struck in wonder to see the same girl talking with that same boy again neatly dressed in company’s uniform. I understood that he wanted to meet her before going to the work. The way they longed to meet one another and to talk to one another is really interesting. I was really reminded of my good old days. I’m sure that many of us would have experienced the same and much more. The days of love and warmth that we had after our engagement to our spouse is the most interesting period and it is the same in our spiritual life too.
The love that we have had for our Lord and His word during our initial days of our salvation is worth mentioning and that’s why our Lord says to the church at Ephesus “Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love.” – Revelation 2 : 4
The verse that is taken for today’s thought from the book of Proverbs chapter 7 which is entitled as “WARNING AGAINST THE ADULTEROUS WOMAN”. She says “I have come to meet you early”. Will we be able to say those words to our Lord, the lover of our soul?
Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near (Isaiah 55 : 6). The psalmist David from the wilderness in Judah writes “O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water. What a great desire! And that’s why he is called by the Lord Himself as “A man according to My own heart”
Are we in love with the Lord of our Salvation? Do we have the same love for Him as in the early days of our salvation or do we love Him better or has our love for Him decreased? Let us take time to analyse our life. Our Lord appreciates every step of love that we show him.
Just like David do we go to bed with a deep-down thirst of waiting to meet Him in the morning? “My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.”- Psalm 130 : 6
Dearly Beloved, just like the young girl about whom I have mentioned in the beginning of our thought let us be anxious and waiting to meet our Beloved Saviour early in the morning.
