While I lost hope, many prayed with hope for me
Testimony of a Pastor who went through the Covid-19 ordeal
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! This is Pastor Peter and family.
A few weeks ago, I suddenly became seriously ill and was diagnosed with COVID-19, my condition only worsened, and I had to be put under oxygen support. Doctors had given up hope on the first day I was admitted, saying I would only be alive as long as I had oxygen pipes inside me. I don’t remember much of how I was transferred between hospitals, and everything that was going on.
My wife also sick herself had to admitted in one hospital and I was put in ICU – Disaster ward. Everyday, 2-3 people would pass away in my ward, and it felt like it was just a matter of time before my turn would come up. I had no phone and therefore no contact with my family or anyone. While I was giving up hope, God was working miraculously for me and my family.

I do not know how the news about me began to spread across, but a prayer request for my family and me was circulating in WhatsApp and hundreds of people were praying for us! Praise be to God! My wife and daughter were flooded with calls and messages continuously encouraging them that God was in control and that God had a plan.
Hundreds of prayer were offered to our living God who has answered them. My family received calls from all over India and around the world, letting us know that they are all upholding us in prayer. So many people whom we didn’t know before became like our family and prayed earnestly for us with love! Christ’s Church – indeed we are one in Christ, thank you all for setting an example for us of how we should be!
Disaster averted by prayers
While this could have been a disaster for our family, but because of your prayers, because of your support for us this has turned out into a testimony for my family — a testimony we hope will encourage many. Who are we that God has loved so much, who are we that He has shown us how great His love for us is!
We are filled with love and gratitude towards everyone who has been there for us during this time, close and dear friends – how will I thank you enough. Brothers and Sisters in Christ with whom I got connected – how do I thank you enough.
God has been extremely gracious, extremely good to us! and so have all of you.
Today, we are once again together as a family! We are all recovering well. We are in awe of God, and we humbly thank Him everyday for His love towards us!
I want to thank everyone for lifting us up in prayer, for supporting us, for being there for us. We as a family thank you, we will always be grateful! I hope you all are safe. It is our prayer that this pandemic would soon die out, and we all reunite praising our Living God! This Great God who has shown his great love for us He is the same God who is eager to show His love for you!
