Inheritance of the Saints

Colossians 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
 Inheritance of the Saints
The context of Biblical inheritance starts way back from the life of Abraham the patriarch.
It started when God called Abraham and told him to just obey and go to a land (country) which he knew not.
Hebrews 11:8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
Now that was regarding the Promised land of Canaan.
The Word of God further tells us that the patriarchs received not the promise but waited for the same with hope and expectation.
Hebrews 11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. 11:13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 11:14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. 11:39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise:
Now the new testament saints are more blessed and privileged, only due to the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross and due to the in dwelling Holy Spirit of God also the complete written Word of God(Holy Bible ).
Our knowledge and understanding of the scriptures is fully based on the Grace of God manifested through the gift of Salvation.
So the saints of the new testament have been given a divine partaking in the Inheritance.
Acts 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
— We are sanctified and forgiven of our sins to receive the inheritance.
Acts 20:32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
— The Word of God building us to give the inheritance.
Colossians 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
— The heavenly father in His grace and mercy has loved us and called us also made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance.
Ephesians 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
— In Christ Jesus we have obtained an inheritance. By the will of God.
Ephesians 1:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
The Holy Spirit is the earnest or assurance of our inheritance.
All these new testamantal truths should encourage us to enjoy this inheritance of the spiritual blessings and the City which has foundations whose builder and maker is God.
This inheritance is a glorious riches. Which we can understand only when we are born again.
Ephesians 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
Moreover this inheritance is a heavenly, holy, incorruptible and eternal.
1 Peter 1:4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
In this generation people are so much intersted for the earthly inheritance of their forefathers but if only we as believers would search the scriptures and understand our great and glorious inheritance among the Saints (i.e. Church of Lord Jesus Christ ), Oh how wonderful will our lives, families and ministry be today.
May the Lord Jesus Christ our risen Savior open our eyes and bring us into the enjoyment of this Inheritance.
