Walk Of Life – Day 4, March 2021 – C R O S S OF Calvary

CONFESSION AT THE CROSS

At these words, the people are cut to the heart, and ask what they should do. “Repent,” Peter tells them, “and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins” (Acts 2:38).

On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit descended on all those who have been waiting for Him. A crowd forms, and everyone is trying to figure out what is going on. That’s when Peter steps up and offers an explanation. His preaching is passionate, joyful, and powerful. And at the core of his message is a proclamation that continues to be central to the message of the gospel: “God has made him both Lord and Messiah, this Jesus whom you crucified” (Acts 2:36).

At these words, the people are cut to the heart, and ask what they should do. “Repent,” Peter tells them, “and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins” (Acts 2:38). And with that, the church was born.

A man accused of murder, has to surely undergo the punishment that he is charged by the judge of the court. Even if he tries to confess his faults to the judge he will not be free of the punishment that he has to undergo as the judge has no rights to do that. Even though the ones deeply affected by the murder forgive the convict his death punishment will not be ruled out. The Australian medical missionary who served the Lord among the people affected with leprosy at Orissa was brutally killed along with his two sons by a mob setting ablaze the vehicle that they have been resting. An incident, that shook the whole world. The newspapers and the media propagated with great fury and anger. The convicts were given life imprisonment and though the deeply hurt widow of Dr. Stains say that she has forgiven those who killed her husband and her two young boys they cannot except punishment. Whereas confession made at the cross of Calvary leads to forgiveness and more than that to the ruling out of punishment laid to us.

Dear brother and sister, is there any sin which you have not confessed? Don’t delay. Jesus Christ has already paid the price at the CROSS. You know need to suffer any more longer. Repent and confess all the sins that you have committed so far. Our Lord with his nail pierced hands is calling you tenderly to do that. Even after confessing our sins and having the assurance of forgiveness we tend to sin again in our thoughts and actions. So ask the Lord to wash you again and again. He is awaiting to make you clean and whole.

Prayer: Loving Father, I come to your cross to confess all my sins and shortcomings. Wash me with your blood and i shall be clean. In Jesus name I pray.
