Moravian Missionary Movement
One group of devoted Christians who got together for a 100-Year Prayer Movement paved the way for the world-wide missionary Movement.
In 1727, the Moravian Community of Herrnhut in Saxony commenced a “prayer watch” that lasted for more than a 100 years.
During this prayer vigil, the Moravians sent out more than 300 missionaries all parts of the world including our own country.
Evidence of this can be seen in Himachal Pradesh, where the apples are grown. It was the Moravians who introduced the apples to this hilly region.
YES, INTERCESSION IS A BASIC COMPONENT FOR EVANGELISATION.
Much before the British missionaries arrived in India, it was the Moravians and later the Dutch evangelicals who set foot in India.
The evangelisation push of the Moravians sustained by their prayers has raised many missionaries whose exploits are presented in the attached power point presentation. It talks of two young men who risked their lives and enslaved themselves to preach gospel to the slaves of the West Indies islands.
Now the question for us all is, what can we do for the Lamb which was slain on the Cross?
